It begins with mugwort

The character 艾—ài, also the Chinese word for mugwort—offers a cultural starting point for the Aini name and its language of warmth, steadiness, and everyday care. The complete ingredients and proportions of the family formula remain part of the inherited craft and are not publicly disclosed.

One house formula. Three generations of craft.

The botanical formula used at Aini is made by the family according to an inherited method.

The family knowledge system encompasses 57 botanicals, with seven core botanicals forming the fixed house formula. Knowledge of material, proportion, and making remains within the family. During a visit, the formula is used as botanical clay, a warm application, or part of a foot soak according to the chosen focus area and the guest’s comfort.

From Yunnan, with patience

The family’s botanical standards took shape in Yunnan; what traveled was a disciplined respect for material, proportion, and method.

From Yunnan to America, the family continues to know materials carefully, handle proportions with restraint, and safeguard how the formula is made. It is not a performance or a promise of exaggerated effects, but a way to keep three generations of craft present in every care experience.
